cityscape pencil drawing by artist Lori Markman
Mixed Media on Paper
22 1/4 inches x 16 1/2 inches

This drawing is a bit of a poke at Los Angeles and its traffic: its focus on appearance and the superficial, and "my" reaction to all that. It is unframed, but will need to be framed and matted to protect it. Love the models and their dog. The lettering on the tops of the buildings read: "Look at Me!", "Look at My Car!". The gray V shape with the round whitish dots is an abstraction of the intersection of the 101 freeway and the 405 freeway with the shinning headlights of the cars. The strip at the top of the page has a smog like look to me.

This original drawing is pencil, colored pencil and gouache on white paper. It is signed and dated.

As usual, the camera does not pick up the detail, the fine lines, the layer upon layer of color and layer upon layer of line work on this drawing. This drawing took somewhere between 60 and 80 hours to complete.

The drawing is unframed and should be framed and matted to protect it.

The price of this drawing includes all domestic within the US shipping and handling. International shipping is extra and will be paid for by the buyer at a price arranged by the artist and the buyer.
